The VACPCI is a real time PCI video annotation controller. It accepts
live video from 1 of 2 PAL/NTSC analogue sources, generates computer graphics and blends them
with the video. The VACPCI can drive a DVI connected High-Resolution TFT Flat Panel or standard VGA display, and
provides composite and S-Video PAL/NTSC video outputs for driving a TV Monitor.
The VACPCI supports per-pixel synchronisation and 256 levels of Alpha Blending of graphics
with the live video from transparent to full overlay. The built-in graphics buffer allows high resolution
graphical and alphanumeric information to be placed on the live video stream for real time labelling,
titling and annotation applications.
The VACPCI is available with a comprehensive SDK that is designed to insulate
the developer from the low level complexity of the VACPCI Hardware with its 500+
registers. Providing a high level API the SDK helps bridge the gap between the
TV and Computer Display techonologies providing the quickest possible route to
application deployment.
The SDK consists of support libaries and drivers as well as an extensive range
of example applications. The applications are provided in both compiled and source forms. These examples show how
the SDK can be utilized to harness the power of the VACPCI in complex video/graphic
applications.
